Job Title : Slitter Welder Operator
Reports to (Job Title)Slitter Welder Operator
Location : Divfood Mobeni - Durban, South Africa (Primary)
Job Description:
- Cut sheets into blanks to meet the required specification and to load the blanks into the welder and weld cylinders; and apply external and internal coating on the weld to minimize oxidization (rust), in line with manufacturing standards.
- Operating various slitter and welder machines to produce a product as per laid down standards.
- Adherence to production plan.
- Conducting quality checks, recording results on the quality charts, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met.
- Ensuring equipment is kept in good running order.
- Reporting defective issues to the Can maker
- Trouble shooting in order to ensure that lines produce at optimum efficiency.
- Maintaining and ensuring a high standard of safety, housekeeping and hygiene
Job Requirements :
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
- Manufacturing working knowledge
- Previous Slitter/Welder Operating experience (advantageous);
- Fork truck driver’s license (advantageous)
- Be familiar with all quality aspects
- 1-2 years’ Operator experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- Attention to detail
- Have well developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Must be a self-starter and be willing to work shifts and overtime;
- Ability to work independently
- Be a team player
- Have the ability to perform well under pressure
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
