A vacancy exists in the Accounting & Bookkeeping Department for a Senior Accountant to carry out duties relating to annual financials:
Purpose of the role:
To produce annual financial statements for sole proprietors, partnerships, close corporations private companies and non-audit trusts.
NB: Due to the timing of this vacancy, candidates will only be contacted for interviews in mid-January 2022.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compile financial statements for individuals, trusts, close corporations and companies
- Prepare tax computations for individuals, trusts, close corporations and companies
- Preparation of budget with supervisor’s approval; control of targets to ensure monthly targets are met.
- Gather client information
- Process and reconcile annual transactions from source documents
- Prepare working paper files
- Draft annual financial statements and attend to all related administration requirements
- Resolve review queries from manager/partner and do final entries as per partner’s finalization
- Ensure the latest statutory knowledge is applied and undergo any necessary training.
- Liaising and dealing with Clients, Supervisors and Partners on their expectations and requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Proficiency in income tax relating to trusts, companies and individuals
- Proficiency in caseware including drafting of financial statements in caseview
- Proficiency in MS Office with good working knowledge of spreadsheets and Pastel
- Recognised B.Comm Accounting / Financial qualification would be advantageous
- Membership of Professional Body (e.g. SAIPA) would be advantageous
- 3 years’ experience in an accounting / auditing firm
