Specification:
- This position exists to ensure safe installation and maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment i.e. crusher/gearboxes/pumps etc.
- Health and Safety
- Display safety conduct at all time by wearing the correct PPE
- Attend pre-shift meetings
- Report unsafe conditions and -behaviour
- Adhere to FA and client policies and procedures
- Always behave safe
- Maintenance Services
- Implement maintenance schedules
- Maintains\repairs all mechanical equipment(pumps/screens/crushers/gear boxes etc
- Conduct plant inspection on all key mechanical equipment
- Identifies and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance/repairs
- Plan for material and men to assist
- Informs foreman on anything related to work or safety on site
- Do risk assessment/study procedures
- Do repairs/maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12/N3 - Mechanical engineering subjects
- Trade Test Fitter - MQA/MERSETA preferred
EXPERIENCE
- 2 year Learnership/Apprentice in Mining or Construction
- Basic exposure to maintenance of general plant equipment (Strong and divers machining ability is a requirement)
- 3 years working as Fitter
SKILLS, QUALITIES and ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Risk assessment skills
- Basic planning skills
- Mechanical engineering skills
- Basic understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures
- Understand what constitutes unsafe conditions and –behaviour
- Verbal communication
- How to order PPE
