ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To support production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering
- to procedures/codes, and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain
- sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
- Do daily plant preventative inspection
- Planning own tasks
- Do preventative and repairs on plant equipment according to safety regulations, instruction and quality procedures.
- Conduct fault finding on mechanical equipment
- Initiate pro-actives in maintenance
- Must be able to do standby
- Willing to work overtime
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to work at heights, dirty and noisy areas
- Actively participate in discussions that improve maintenance, quality and safety
- Must be physically fit
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
- Must be in possession of a valid drivers license

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Qualifications:
- Grade 12/ N3 Mechanical
- NQF level 4 Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification ex QCTO certificate
- Trade Certificate will be an advantage
Experience:
- At least 2 year’s maintenance mechanical experience
- Reading and understanding work management process
- Experience in variety of mechanical equipment, pumps, compressors, drives, mechanical seals, gearboxes, heat exchangers, cooling towers, vessels and piping
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Leadership
- Able to work independently
- Good interpersonal skills
Functional / Technical
- Computer literate
- Conduct fault finding
- Identify trends and initiate solutions for specific equipment failures
- Be able to do preventative repairs on plant equipment
Behavioural
- Be able to execute tasks, with minimal supervision
- Team player:- able to function in a large group of artisans, or a diverse group of disciplines
- Be able to work under pressure
