Providing information and financial peace of mind to our people ensures the incumbent will be a trusted partner, educator and expert in Administrating, Facilitating and Managing the Employee Benefit and Wellness processes with BIL, i.e. Discovery Medical Aid, Bidvest Retirement funding Income, Death and Disability, Leave administration, Long Service Awards Administration, Injury on Duty and our Employee Wellness Programme. The incumbent should have a strong focus on Employee Wellness programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administering and managing the day to day function.
  2. Updating and reconciliation of contribution payments
  3. Process withdrawals from the Retirement funds and medical aid for resignations, retirements, death and disability
  4. Attend to queries- both written and telephonic
  5. Presenting to staff on request whenever administration presentation are required
  6. Assist HR in the facilitation of the induction process for employee benefits and advise employees of their benefit options and plans (where necessary)
  7. Facilitate the application / removal of all members and their dependents Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation e.g. Basic Conditions of Employment, LRA, Income Tax Act and COIDA
  8. Facilitate and promote sharing information around employee benefits and reward in the induction process and employee life cycle.
  9. Dealing with post retirement and death, resignation withdrawals forms for the medical aid and retirement funds
  10. Assisting with Staff queries and Employee education around Employee Benefits
  11. Facilitation and Management of Employee Wellness Programme - to make Employee wellness and Wellbeing really "come alive" in BIL
  12. Processing of Temporary & Permanent Disability Claims
  13. Maintenance and updating of WSS
  14. Sharing information, educating and providing effective feedback where required around this speciality
  15. Ensuring all relevant benefits information is regularly updated, shared and distributed to all stakeholders e.g. employees, managers etc.
  16. Ensuring that new updated information is shared and promoted to all employees and pensioners.
  17. Reconcilliation of all service provider schedules
  18. Facilitation of Workmans Compensation processes and payments

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Requirements

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Min 3 years Benefit Administration and provider liaison, Financial/Human Resources tertiary qualification or minimum 3 years degree qualification
  • Minimum 3 years experience as Benefits Administrator and further 2 years experience as Benefits/Officer or Manager
  • Minimum 5 year experience in Life Insurance, Retirement Fund and Medical aid administration
  • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook)
  • Minimum 5 year experience of Sage 300 Payroll, and WSS
  • Progressive demonstration of establishing and implementing appropriate remuneration structures and strategies with in corporate environment
  • Ability to demonstrate, influence and execute remuneration and benefit strategies at a senior level
  • Data Management (PowerBI) and trends interpretation will support the execution of this role
  • A strong financial skill set in the Employee Benefits and administration environment

  5. Ability to effectively manage own time and high volumes of admin related documentation
  6. An established reputation for professional discretion when dealing with confidential and personal employee information
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individual at all levels
  8. The ability to support our people through sharing information, educating and providing effective feedback where required High levels of empathy
